PROJECT

KOCH International is one of Germany's established logistics providers with a strong reputation and high level of brand recognition in the market. The company is known for delivering tailored logistics solutions, exceptional service, and extensive expertise in demanding industries such as pharmaceuticals and chemicals. The objective of the project was to strategically reposition the brand—transforming KOCH from a traditionally perceived logistics company into a modern, internationally recognized premium brand.

CHALLENGE

The analysis revealed that while KOCH enjoyed strong brand recognition, its brand lacked a clear and consistent identity. Its communication was often creative and humorous, but failed to convey the image of an innovative, technology-driven, and highly professional logistics company. At the same time, both the management team and employees expressed a clear ambition for a bolder, more contemporary, and internationally positioned brand - one that would resonate not only with customers, but also with future talent.

STRATEGIC INSIGHT

The brand development process revealed that KOCH's differentiation could not be based on transportation services alone. The company's true strength lies in the combination of close personal partnerships, outstanding problem-solving expertise, tailored consulting, and exceptional reliability. These insights led to a brand positioning that places greater emphasis on innovation, professionalism, and international appeal—while preserving the company's strong family values and entrepreneurial culture. The goal was to create a brand that communicates with greater confidence, evokes emotion, and clearly differentiates itself from traditional competitors in the logistics industry.

SOLUTION

Based on this strategy, a comprehensive brand transformation was developed. This included:

  • Development of a future-oriented brand positioning
  • Strategic analysis of the market and competitive landscape
  • Facilitation of workshops, stakeholder interviews, and positioning analyses
  • Development of a clear brand profile and a distinctive brand personality
  • Modernization of the visual brand identity
  • Evolution of the existing logo. The redesign deliberately preserved the brand's strong recognition while refining its form, proportions, and overall execution. The result is a contemporary logo that respects KOCH's established heritage while clearly expressing the brand's international ambitions and technological expertise.
  • Development of a consistent visual language and a functional corporate design system
  • Creation of a comprehensive brand system that ensures a consistent and professional brand experience across all physical and digital touchpoints.

IMPACT

With its new strategic direction, KOCH has evolved from a traditional logistics brand into a modern, innovation-driven, and internationally positioned company. The brand has gained greater clarity, stronger recognition, and a more distinctive position within a highly competitive market.A key element of this transformation was the careful evolution of the logo. Rather than replacing an established brand asset, the existing logo was deliberately refined to preserve its strong recognition while giving it a more contemporary appearance. Its familiar character remains intact, but its proportions, visual balance, and execution have been modernized to reflect the brand's international ambitions, technological capabilities, and premium positioning. This combination of continuity and modernization strengthens trust among customers, employees, and partners while clearly communicating KOCH's future-oriented direction. At the same time, the new brand identity enhances the company's appeal to both customers and prospective employees, providing a solid foundation for sustainable growth and consistent brand management across all physical and digital touchpoints.
